Hi my name is Deborah I am a hospice caregiver, I work as a live-in so that means I'm there 24 hours a day and I'm relieving the family which are the potential other caregivers, the difference is I have a background as a CNA and for the last 20 years I've worked with many agencies and clients from a range of many ailments. Most of my contracts are 3 months and after that 3 months I usually take two or three months off just to refresh so I can come back into my work again. That is my tip for most caregivers you must make time for yourself I always take two days off a week and I work 5 days 24-hour shifts those two days are very important you need to have a sense of self so you can give your best to those that you're caring for.
